Can I make Windows 8 function like Windows 7 - without tiles?

I'd like to get Windows 8 for the fast USB 3.0 speeds it gives and the fact that it has native USB 3.0 drivers. However I don't like all the tiles nonsense. Is there any way I can make Windows 8 function like Windows 7? I don't mind using 3rd party software to achieve that.

I realise that not everything can be the same but I'd like a similar Windows Explorer environment and the start menu.

You could try one of these, although I haven't tried any myself...

    http://www.pokki.com/windows-8-start-menu

    http://www.stardock.com/products

    http://startisback.com/

They won't change everything back to the Windows 7 way of doing things, but they'll help...

The native drivers are bad and the transfer speeds are not good or stable. Google "windows 8 usb3 problem".

Could you please give some links to such pages as people have always had USB issues on every operating system. I'd like to see it mentioned that Windows 8 actually has USB issues and that it's not just people's USB hard drives that's the problem.

That was not what he said to search for. I was expecting to search for what he said and find something concrete on the first couple of Google pages but I didn't see anything. So instead I asked for links to pages which specifically say there's USB 3.0 problems in Windows 8.

    You might find these useful/informative:

Tip - If you can't find what you want on Google straight away, try changing your search parameters and/or use a different search engine. I needed two searches to come up with this selection

+1 to Pokki. Boots straight to desktop mode first skipping the start menu upon login and provides it own custom start menu. Pokki can link to other site to install apps onto your desktop however pokki start menu is only installed for the user who installed it, does not install it for other users.

Very first result from google if you entered 'windows 8 usb3 problem':
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...sb-30-problems

I haven't used any USB 3.0 device with my Windows 8 pro 64 bit system yet so I am not fully aware of this issue.
