Heh. Went there, typed it in. There's a couple of similar suggestions, which have the reply that it's the wrong forum (i.e. that forum is for dev suggestions, not UI suggestions), with a link to the "right" forum. But if you follow the link you get an "access denied" error page!

Oh the joys of working with devs (and I say that as an ex-dev ).

I used to use Opera a while back, but haven't used it in a while. I'm starting to feel attached to Chrome because of the extensions I use, are there many on Opera?

ETA - In fact are there other browsers that can use the chrome extensions without all the monitoring stuff? Does Chromium do that?
I don't typically use many extensions so I cant answer that, opera is now based on webkit which is what chrome runs on so maybe there are some. I guess just search the opera extension site for what you use before trying

Oh. It's been a while since I used a different browser (due to being happy with this) so I had forgotten that others (particularly IE) had it.

It's not really the rendering engine change that caused the complaints, presto was getting a bit old and creaky, and other than some non-standard text anti-aliasing webkit/blink is pretty good.

It was the fact that they decided to completely change the interface and and try and copy what other browsers were doing instead of focusing on the features that made opera stand out, such as it's ability to handle a lot of tabs.

I was using the last version of Opera 12 until it because obvious the direction the dev team were taking with Opera Next. I'm currently between browsers. Pale moon is the stand in until I find a browser that can make decent use of even my fairly modest 1920 pixel wide monitor instead of going ultra-minimalist and hiding everything in layers of menus.

It's getting to the point where I might have to have a bash at writing my own browser (an interface anyway, I wouldn't know enough about internet security to do the guts so I'd just use Awesomium or similar).

Re: What browser do you use?

A while back had some issues with firefox so switched to chrome and never looked back. Wish it was a bit less taxing on ram usage(my system only has 4gb of ddr2) so no browsing while I play games but I got used to that.

Re: What browser do you use?

Used to use Opera up to 12.17 (last ProperOpera), went to Pale Moon and adapted it to be as like Opera as I could. PM became difficult on some sites as I couldn't update past v25 (still on XP!).
Tried Firefox, modded it and currently on v38.5 ESR.

I do miss the .ini files and creatable buttons of Opera. Managed on 2 or 3 buttons on Firefox - if there is a way of doing more it's beyond me.

IE, Chrome, and Firefox. I find that a single browser does not do everything that I expect of them, so I flip between when one of them gets on my nerves.

Re: What browser do you use?

It is useful to have multiple installed for testing, for everyday use I stick with Chrome, but also use Firefox and Chrome canary.
Some of the sites still unfortunately only work correctly with IE.

Re: What browser do you use?

Chrome, mainly out of habit. Tried Firefox a few times but I didnt like the interface, and thats reason enough for a simple man like me to can it.

Re: What browser do you use?

Firefox and IE. I use 2 browsers to save different arrays of tabs.
One might have a load of shopping price comparisons and another technical guides or whatever
