Downgrade to Windows xp 32 bit

My PC came with a Windows XP 64 bit O/S.

Since I cant install drivers for my printers, ditigtal cameras etc. I want to downgrade it to a Windows XP 32 bit system.

Would I be correct in thinking that this wont be as straightforward as "upgrading" to a newer system, ie having to remove the 64 bit system before installing the 32 bit system?

I obviously dont want to lose any programs and data currently on my hard drive, so can you give me some advice on the easiest way to carry this out?

AFAIK this is not possible - you would need to set up a dual boot.

Thats exactly what I originally wanted to do in a previous post, when it was suggested to me instead that I set aside my Windows 64 bit O/S and replace it with a 32 bit O/S .

Basically you'll need a tool to repartition your hard drive (if only one) to create some free, non-partitioned space to install Windows XP 32 bit to.
