    Warner Backs Blu-ray!!

HD-DVD is as good as dead?

With warner backing Blu-ray (which i have also mentioned in the Audio/Visual Channel) and only Universal and Paramount backing HD-DVD (and could they be defecting soon...), does that mean the death of HD-DVD?
    Many are saying yes.

    Old news? Yes!

Wrong section? Probably- should this not be in the AV section?

This happened just before CES and was the reason HD-DVD withdrew their speech.

I know it's a month old or so, but could'nt find anything in the sony section what with ps3's having a Blu-ray drive, and not a great deal mentioned elsewhere apart from the ces bit.

I did write that i already mentioned this in the A/V channel, and at the moment there is hardly an abundance of new threads and my fellow ps3 owners should be made aware of the situation of Blu-ray. There are many ps3 owners that just browse the gaming forum, and as all of our ps3's have a Blu-ray drives it does'nt hurt being in the sony channel.

Yeah, the original thread was understandably moved to Lifestyle HD section here.... http://forums.hexus.net/audio-visual...rmat-dead.html

Most people been posting there since. Makes sense even if its just had to keep the threads now classic proclamation "title" bumped for a laugh

Not news, been around for ages. Does not mean that HDDVD is going fold over and die.

Multi-format is still what it looks like for the near to medium term.

i'd say blu ray will clinch it now which is a shame as hd dvd is better for the consumer im told.

the only reason this annoys me is blu ray films seem to be a bit pricier than hddvd i dont have a hd dvd player or blu ray player so i havent personally lost out.

as for the fact i own a 360, im sure ms could quite easily develp a blu ray drive for it.

Who'd have thought it, Sony might actually win a format war for once.
