Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock

I love my missus, came home today to find Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock for the PS3 sitting on my desk! Has to be one of the most addictive games I've had the pleasure of playing in ages, it's got me truly hooked trying to master the various songs.

The little guitar is fantastic and once you've gone through the lessons your pretty much ready to go. Also noticed you can download extra songs from the PSN so looking forward to finishing it and downloading more songs to master.

Well worth buying if you are thinking about it.

good call, i managed to do most on hard but it seems to have LEAPED up in difficulty since 1 and 2 but i still play it from time to time on solo but its still a party fave too
i've picked up 3 packs since i bought it which came out around the same time and i've not fancied much since:

    Warner Bros song pack

I have this on X360 - its quite good fun - in short bursts, but does anyone notice after staring at the lines/notes/whatever coming towards you, after looking away from the screen, your eyesight is ****ed?

Same here (on the Wii). I was quite happily going through the songs when wham! Notes everywhere! I've managed to 3* it, and I think I'll leave it at that for now!

Just started Medium and I'm finding it really hard. Must be my old fingers!

On the subject of the screen, does anyone else see the screen "drifting" upwards when you're on the menu type pages? It's like the whole picture is moving up, but it isn't. I've got a 42" plasma display and this is the only time I've ever seen this effect. It's quite disorientating to watch for any amount of time!

not touched it for about 2 month, i cant play it on easy because the notes a so few and far between to stun its harder to track the beat, i've done it on medium and almost on hard, but soon after i stopped playing as i got a new game.
if you want a challange - play 'Through the fire and the flames' on any difficulty, it still presents mind boggling speed

Got the missus involved now and we are working through co-op together. Just opened up "Suck My Kiss"

I can what the attraction with the Wii is now.

just released another song pack of 3 (metal) with Deftones, Mastadon and Avenged Sevenfold (Almost Easy, WHAT A TUNE!) not really bothered about the Deftones and mastadon track because they are pretty lame but AX7 are awesome and Almost Easy is cool!

Played it on my friends 360 and thought it was a really enjoyable game. Now there's been a price drop, I will probably be getting a 360 with GH3 as well. I must admit, I was pretty skeptical at first but the game is really good and just enjoyable.

I've 5*'d 80% of songs on medium can almost perfect most of them only miss one or 2 notes, managed to do first 4 songs on hard but its tough going.

4 to 5 notes is much harder than 3 to 4.

Currently stuck on the Slash battle on Medium (interesting seeing Slash battle Slash!)

Any hints/tips from anyone? I get the first battle power and use it to stop him getting his first one, but then it goes downhill from there!

until the middle just use them as you get them when he is playing but try and stack a few for later, then just hit him with 3 of them one after the other and he messses up - do this near the end while the notes are close togather.
thats how i did it mate.

Well, I finally made it past Slash last night! I used a similar approach, but kept 3 of them until the sudden death bit at the end, when you have no more notes to play. I zapped him 3 times, and just as I got him the last time, I saw the "Death Drain" message appear. Both of our rock meters were going down, but he bit the dust with mine still about half full! One play through the encore track and I called it a night.

Has anyone here signed up on the Guitar Hero Community - Home web site and linked your game to your account? It keeps a record of your best scores and ranks you against all the other players. You can also play tournaments online, where you have to play certain songs in a 24 hour period, and it keep track of your highest scores. No chance of getting anywhere near the top (the people who do know exactly when to use Star Power for the optimum score, visit Score Hero - Home and see their discussions!) but it's still fun.

Any GH3 players on the Wii want to swap friend codes?
