Unhappy Army of TWO PS3 online issue!

had the game since thursday, unlocked everything and completed it on all difficulties BUT i CANT CONNECT TO THE EA SERVERS!!!!
i've searched high and low this wekend for an explanation as of why i cant get online, even tried the helpline but i lost interest after 30 minutes of lame 'hold' music.
if anyone can find the solution to this or update me or if its a problem my end i would be VERY greatful.

    cheers in advance guys.

are there jsut no games? or u cant connect? EA are pretty bad for hosting online games. I used to have a few probs with fifa08 on ps3 online. Try make sure ur nat settings is 2 and what i found helped is go to the back of your manual and unblock the ports mentioned whilstalso assigning ur ps3 a static ip

cheers for the reply merlin BUT you're gonna have to 'dumb it down' for me - regarding console play im not clue'd up on changing system settings but i will have a bash on what you said.

basically, when the message "connecting to EA servers" pops up, after a few minutes it says that it couldnt connect and i sohuld check my network settings, but its the only game that has trouble connecting (apart from COD4 at times but thats another story) for example, i play Burnout paradise alot of the time online and thats EA as is Pro street but its just AOT that im having the trouble with.

if you get chance mate, run though with me what i should try to change on my end for a result.
    cheers again

Basically go to network settings on ur ps3.
    - Test ur connection, hopefully it will say nat3, cause that may be the problem. If it does
    - Manual setup your ps3's network settings, and assign it its own ip address so it doesnt keep changing everytime u turn it on
    - If u go to run>cmd>inconfig /all on ur PC it will give u DNS server etc, jsut fill in the blanks on your ps3 and assign an ip address 192.168.2.7 or .1.7
    - Then go to your router 192.168.2.1 and open up the ports on your router for that IP address (192.168.2.7) and try test ur connection again

Hello mate, been very busy this weekend and have'nt got round to buying this yet although i'm in two minds at the moment.
It only takes a few hours to complete and online seems buggy, but i still think it'll be good to go through with a friend....hhmmm £30 on ebay.
Shame to hear about your problems.

Re: Army of TWO PS3 online issue!

ok it now connects to the EA servers but theres no chance of game connection - reading around this is apparently because the AOT servers suck at the mo and is being fixed in an upcomming patch - but thanks for the help merlin, appreciate it

Gtech - dont worry about it boss, it is a bit short considering. just wait for the price to drop - we can hook it up then. we do need to do burnout challenges though, aperently you get new cars for online challenges, never herd of that before though.

yeah, its sucks big time - you'd think a well established gaming company with a few top selling online titles would have decent servers for one of its big releases.
but atleast we know the fix is coming, apparently it has something to do with the server restriction (you can only play peopl ein your own country at the mo).

i thought the game play was awesome, granted its a short game but the action/ cutscenes and general feel of it are ace! i know theres an online problem at the minute but i wouldnt put the whole opinion of the game based on that. i'll be getting rainbow six 2 aswell but i wouldnt rule out me not playing AOT again as i still love it and would think EA has shaped up the online play by then too.
