Burnout Paradise FREE expansion coming soon!
i read the online news flash on burnout the other day while doing the online challanges and read about the free expansion coming soon which sounds quite cool, i found out a few more things from the guys i play with and it sounds like quite a generous sized expansion.
*New island *New challenges on and offline *New Cars and apparently if you have reached 101% completion - if you register at Criterion (sp?) you will get an exclusive beach buggy on release - lol ![]() this is apparently why the awards for online challenges were minimalistic - because a large number wouldnt take part apparently and so now those people who did are rewarded in the expansion. |

Sounds like a winner to me. I'm just about to get my Elite license so more challenges and areas to roam would keep the game alive a bit longer for me.

Re: Burnout Paradise FREE expansion coming soon!
heres something i found weird too -
i got 100% a few weeks ago from all the offline content and after listening to a few randoms talk about 101% i figured its from the online challenges, so over the past few days when my RSLV2 clan are offline i've been battering through them, think i;ve done roughly 200/350 now and as i checked to see which i needed next i saw i had 101% :S thought that was a bit strange. also, after every few challenge sections complete (2player 3player etc) you get a new carbon car set, i got the Ubershell yesterday so insted of the "cars unlocked" saying 75/75 it said 76/76 - why not just put the TOTAL number of cars to unlock insted of adding them on lol :S i also did a few challenges with a guy who had the Tempesta in chrome which was modified to stunt car . . . .i NEEEEEEED this as its my fave car but never use it because its speed ![]() |

Re: Burnout Paradise FREE expansion coming soon!
well i prefer other versions as failing races means going back to the start no quick restart which is annoying and they took out the crashing features that made the game so good.

Re: Burnout Paradise FREE expansion coming soon!
. . and added a free roam city, smooth online play, a large number of all purpose cars and are giving free content to top it off, the sacrifice of crashing features doesnt spoil the game at all, neither does losing a race to restart: if your losing, stop the car and the race ends, if you are near the finish and get over taken - then unlucky

Re: Burnout Paradise FREE expansion coming soon!
I got this last night and played for an hour and found the demo doesn't show this game off well at all, I was almost put off after playing the demo but the full version is awesome, I've failed a couple of races and just moved onto another race in the area, I can see how it may be annoying for the last couple of races but its nowhere near as much as a negative as people have been making out.
Oh, and the new crash thing (can't remember what its called), although not the same as the old crash mode, is just as fun imo, made me and one of my house mates laugh from the ridiculousness of bouncing 1/2 way across the city, leaving a trail of destruction, bouncing off the top of buses, etc. |

Re: Burnout Paradise FREE expansion coming soon!
I've seen so many people moan about the lack of restart and eventually it transpires that they've only either read reviews or played the demo. It really isn't an issue in the full game at all.
![]() Burnout Paradise is definitely up amongst my favourite games of recent and what's even better is that the devs seem devoted to supporting it for a decent amount of time adding worthwhile content. Admittedly I haven't played it for a while (so many games, so little time), but I'll certainly be returning for the new content patches. |

I didnt like the demo either, but after playing the full game at my mates I was hooked. |

Re: Burnout Paradise FREE expansion coming soon!
Yeah, give it a go and see what you think. I think one trouble with the demo was the fact there were so few events, you don't get a feel of the open world with barriers in your way.
