    Post 2.30 Update
    Just installed 2.30 and it's only the store update. The store loads alot quicker as well as looking neater but seems really slow in getting all the icons to appear in menus like New releases/ Downloadable Games.
    Does'nt seem to be any new content there but i guess that'll be thursday.

    No in-game xmb either

    i know, although they didnt mentioned either xmb or home, id hope there would be one of them at least. Store takes so long to load the images!!

    I think that any major updates will be announced at E3 tbh.

    And also with the speed of loading I think it is down to the store still being worked on, when I tried it yesterday 1/2 of the images weren't even there, just had a cannot find symbol (if that makes sense).

    Anyone thinking this was anything more than a firmware update for audio and the store is clearly kidding themselves. Its well known that Home and XMB access are coming in the summer.

    New store is excellent, although it is slow as hell, i'll put that down to traffic for now.

    Neither of those were expected in this release. XMB should be out sometime during the summer (June-August) Plus i thought Home would be out Sept (ish) But seeing as Sony haven't confirmed anaything yet, i'd just wait until they do

    i ment the beta, i didnt really specify. i just heard it would be a trial downloadable through the store - hence me half expecting it.
    im going to get you all in my seedy decorated appartment and do un-godly things to the lot of you! things that would make Jenna Jamerson say "DAAAMN THATS NASTY!"

    Why are you expecting it before Sept? As before no release date has been set, Beta's are there for testing of many different functions before they are released to the public. Bungie had the Halo 3 Beta in May with the full release in Sept. Makes sense to have a long (ish) beta to iron out any silly bugs.

    Senior VP of PlayStation Network, Peter Dille has pledged a ton of new "community building" features for the PS3 online service this year, including a 2008 release for Home and the in-game XMB.
    This year then. Although there is talk of Downloaded movies as well, hope they are more up to date than MS.

    Well, I've just got in from the pub after work and unlocked my phone within about 15 minutes. Its now running firmware 1.1.4 flawlessly with custom applications and any networks sim card
