Hello everyone. i have got my mgs4 delivered today by play.com! And i am sure i am not the only one so i feel its time to finaly make this thread come to age

i will post back with my initial impressions tomorrow after i give mgs4 a go later tonight! guess i be missing the euro 08 games hehe

Well ive played it and uninstalled it already, didnt like it one bit. Takes 8 mins to install at the start. Blandest graphics EVER!!

No didnt get much of a chance to be honest, . It seems konami have removed every colour bar grey and brown from the game. I seriously couldn't have been less impressed.

thought demo was great, so no reason why the main game wont be good. Obviously not ur kinda thing spaz, cause the graphics i thought were fine. Not cod4, but not tetris

ironicly i had a power cut on my area and couldnt play mgs4 for long LOL. i will post back with my initial impression later

my preorder from shopto arrived yesterday, played for around an hour or two after work - it really is 'metal gear on a battlefield', quite immense.

also the strangest intro to a game i have ever seen!!

Nowt to say about the game as I can't stand MGS games, too much sneaking around for me. Hope the rest of you enjoy it though!

Well here are my first initial impressions on mgs4. I managed to have a quick go before my whole local area got a power cut :S

Anyways from my initial impressions OMFG this has to be one of the best opening acts of a game ever! The first half hour of the game is a mixed bag of cut scenes and you getting to control good old solid snake and introduces you to the story and your main mission. Quality stuff and the cut scenes are some if not the best cut scenes i have ever witnessed in a video game. I might actually watch the whole 90min cut scenes when that comes along!

Now let’s discuss the actual game play. It feels just like the previous mgs games. He can move fluent and smooth just like past games. The sounds are immense and imagine it being truly amazing on a proper 5.1 setup. The opening level truly shows how amazing the sound effects are. Graphically its no crysis, but it’s acceptable to the fact that it looks like gta4 without the jaggy edges and lack of AA in it.

The AI in this game is very impressive indeed; i was lying down on the floor using the special octagon suit which camouflages your whole body to whatever texture you lean against! Anyways has i was on the floor pretending to be dead a guard spotted me, went towards me and kicked me in my gut to see if i was dead or not!

All and all this game is very good but i will make my final verdict of weather its better then gta4 in a couple of weeks time for me to get a good feel of this game but i can tell you this. This game has probably the best openings sequence of a game ever.

Tell me about it, the way the rep at work was going on about it i though it was going to have my socks blown off, but if the first one is anything to go by, its even more irritating than just watching a bar.

I would write the funniest quote, although not exactly a spoiler I won't write it anyway until I see someone else commenting, you would probably just be like "what the hell is he talking about?".
