PS3 on LG L197WH 19"?

Just ordered one since I feel I deserve a new (and bigger) monitor, however I have also talked myself into buying a PS3 - so with that in mind, are there any special cables I would need to get (apart from what usually comes with it anyway) to plug a PS3 into the above monitor?

Your monitor's not got a straight HDMI port so you could do digital to a reciever (if you got one) like this

I assume by 'receiver' you mean the appropriate port on the monitor for that optical audio cable? Honestly I don't know if I do (I'm not even sure if it has speakers to be honest) since the monitor isn't actually with me yet.

If it doesn't (which would assumably also then mean it doesn't have speakers), the only ways of audio I'd be left with are my headphones or PC speakers - neither of which I'd have a clue what I'd need to pass the audio to them (since they're obviously both just 3.5mm jacks that plug into the back of the PC or whatever).

Good to hear that I also received a 7m DVI-D<->HDMI (QED) cable from Superfi. RRP 90quid, going for 20quid, never mind the 'snake oil'

Silly Apple didn't bundle my iMac with a mini-DVI to DVI adaptor so I ordered one off the HE site, so I should have videos playing on the TV shortly. As for the audio...err....still working on that one

I got the RCA 3.5mm adapter, which I plugged into a 3.5mm splitter (which I'm actually using as a combiner), also plugging a 3.5mm lead from the PC to the splitter, then the splitter into the 3.5mm coupler, and my headphones in the other end, so now I have the audio from my PC and PS3 going to my headphones without me having to mess about unplugging one lead and plugging in another.

Still waiting for the HDMI -> DVI cable to arrive, as well as an additional DVI cable that I'd need, but once I get them, I'll obviously plug the HDMI end into the PS3 and the DVI end into a DVI switch that I've bought (that has already arrived), along with the DVI from the PC going into the switch, and then the output from the switch to the monitor of course.

EDIT: Just to update for any future readers (I should've updated ages ago), the setup does indeed work
