W00t, Just ordered my PS3 and MGS4...

Hi folks,

Today I shifted apartments and the new one is thrice as big as my earlier room...with two beds (not that I need the second)

The kitchen in this new flat has a TV with working AV/SCART - I don't have to shell out for a TV license as that is already covered by the apt. communal fee. I should be getting the PS3 by Wednesday...hopefully whenever Play decide to get off their royal behinds and complete the order.

Still shows 'Order received'...

P.S. I'm still living in Uni accommodation LOL...

Slow start mind you but its worth the effort

Well, I actually cancelled the order with Play. They wanted 24 hrs to complete the 'security check' for a high value order and 3-4 days after another day for it to ship.

Instead I just collect this from the harrods HMV and am just installing it to the HDD

...can't wait!

I still havent got into yet . . . just met the arms dealer for the first time, forget his name, but so far doesnt feel like anything special . .

I thought that until halfway through act 3, so its worth persisting with it. Imo, the boss battles so far have been terrible. Apart from those in act 4

When I get a chance il give it another go, but so far just doesnt feel like anything special, just generic really.

Bring back Metal Gear Solid the original!

I'm still at the advent palace in the middle east where I just parted ways with Meryl. Sucks that her 'crush' is now old enough to be her grandfather...awww/ewww

The last decent game I played on a console was Gears of War when it came out (yes, I've been away from gaming quite a bit...) - the scale of which things work is just impressive. The intro 'in-game' cinematics were quite impressive - with everything going on...there was no noticeable drop in FPS at all...and for moments I was like...'is this really in-game?'....

I hope to get some work done on my robot tomorrow, and in the evening I'll try and progress a more...

Only got as far as the arms dealer on mine, just to get a feel for what it was like really. Wanted to complete GTA4 before I started on something new, which I completed last week.

Dualshock3 controller arrived today, and a mate said it worked quite well with MGS4, so gonna get back on it

Got my DS3 from a seller on PlayTrade for £32.76 inc postage, arrived 2 days after ordering.

Not sure on the forum policy about mentioning 'Private' sellers, although this was from a small company, but happy to recommend them if you ask in a PM.

D'oh, out of stock. I should have tried PlayTrade. Made it to Act 3.

This game, like all MGS games really, has some brilliant subtleties, secrets and easter eggs. I picked up the 'Piggyback/Konami' book on the game...a fun read, although I tend to play first before looking at the walkthrough. It's handy to see what you've missed (item wise) or different routes on the maps. I've already reached some 10hrs+ playtime never skipping any videos/calls etc.
