Ticket prices
The main reason I stopped going to football was work... I started a high pressure technical job the other side of the country that often involved long periods abroad. That's now changed somewhat (still live nowhere Liverpool mind, and other responsibilities mean I can only get up there once in a while) and I've started looking at ticket prices. Liverpool are playing at Fulham this weekend, and being relatively close I thought I'd take a shufty at ticket prices.
45 quid! And that's for a limited viewing seat! So, including travel for me and the boy and a dodgy hotdog or meat pie, this means an afternoon at the footy runs in at around a ton fifty. How can they charge that for a cr@p view at a club at the wrong end of the table? The most expensive seat at Anfield is just £36! So, give me a hand planning my away games... How much are home/away tickets normally at your grounds? |

Re: Ticket prices
Fulham will see Liverpool as a Catagory A game hence the price. My club, West Ham are also extortionate with tickets ranging from £36 - £48. My season ticket - the cheapest in the ground is £595.
Supply and demand I'm afraid - Wigan on the otherhand are desperate for fans and their away ticket was £15 |

Re: Ticket prices
Ah, the lovely price of being a premiership consumer. Pay a shedload and get treated like dirt by stewards, not everywhere but not too enjoyable.
Now due to circumstances beyond my control, I pay £9 for a standing ticket at Wimbledon, away supporters pay the same price and under 16s get in for free. It's not the premiership, but football does its damnedest to price its fan base out of turning up at the higher levels. Witness AFC Liverpool as a direct result of that. I've got my old Cup Final ticket from 88, that was £8. Our friendly on Sunday at Wembley, vs Corinthian Casuals was £20. Friends had tickets for a row of seats that didn't exist, too. |
