Re: Wimbledon 2008
I don't think being interesting is required when you hit the peak of a sporting discipline, otherwise just look at Kimi Raikonnen
![]() That said i do agree with the fact that Nadal was on fire and Murray had an off game. Nadal really is looking like he'll make the federer final something special this year at the moment ![]() TiG |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
I think Nedal caused Murray to have an off game. He never had an answer for Nedal's game.
A guy in the papers said it best.. Murray wasn't playing Tennis.. he was playing fetch. |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
I actually thought Wimbledon would be a tighter competition this time, with more challengers to Federrer's crown. Doesn't seem to be the case at all.
You could almost just skip the first few weeks and then tune in for the Federrer vs Nadal finale. Oh well, on the one hand it's a shame, on the other hand it's a cracking finale. Unless Safin pulls a shocker out the hat! |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
Safin's capable, but I some how doubt it. I would be happy though if he gives Federrer a good game, as so far Federrer has been strolling though his games.
I dont want Nadal to win it, the spanish have won something this year and thats enough for me ![]() |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
So much for Safin, it's the inevitable final after all.
I'd put my money on Federrer too, he just looks unstoppable in this tournament. Has he broken a sweat yet? ![]() |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
What a match!!!!! Both players deserve a lot of credit. I did not think the 5th set would ever end but Nadal eventually got there.
Its been a good summer for the Spanish, when are the British ever going to win something?! ![]() |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
That truly was an awful match. Credit to Federrer too, he looked defeated on numerous occasions, and then continued to play seemingly impossible shots.
Epic. ![]() |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
what a epic match. best tennis game i have seen in years. thrilling final. tennis at its best and well done nadal but you have just woken up a sleeping giant because now fed is going to go on a rampage. stuff of true legends always responds in great fashion and i have a feeling fed will win back the title next year

Re: Wimbledon 2008
Massive credit to Federer for having the determination to continually save his serve when going 0-30 down. That was pretty special stuff. Needed doing one too many times for him.
Nadal probably just about deserved it - he seemed to be able to lift his game at the very end, and obviously was the better player before the first rain break. Stunning match. I even delayed watching Top Gear for it... |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
Awesome! Really glad Nadal won though both deserved to win.
Honestly, the sight of Gavin Rossdale cheering animatedly from the player's box for Federer spurred me on to cheer for Nadal even more. ![]() |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
I wanted Nadal to win from the start of the final - however you should not put your money against RF - but when he started to fight back I got to be honest I wanted him to achieve the turn around...!
Amazing game to watch |
