Bike upgrades of the month (hybrid)

I probably could clean the thing too..... anyway.

Bit of carbon holding the front wheel in place.

New grips and bar ends covering some new carbon wrap bars.

Should take out some vibrations and it's shaved 400g off aswell. Next item, suspension seat post as I'm getting old

Nice - had chance to try it yet? Did it make as much difference as you'd hoped?

Only the quick run up and down the road after setting it up. Fortunately, the measurements all worked out and the handling is right where it should be.

I think I'll need to do some miles before I feel any difference in the higher frequency vibrations. Having said that, when the forks where off if you grabbed a leg of the ali one and pinged the other, you'd feel it all. The carbon killed dead.

Total bill was only £130 for the bars, grips, bar ends and forks.

How are you finding the front light?

Decent value for money. I like the spread you get from the lens on cateye. Decent beam distance and enough spill to see what's under the tyres.

I hopped up to that one from the model below and the only disappointment is to find that it has no 'low' mode. Just on or off. In most circumstances it's brighter than it needs to be so it'd be nice to have a chance to conserve power.

Last few bits for this year (unless the wheels finally give in to their fiesta-related injuries).

U.S.E. Suspension seat post and WTB Laser V SLT saddle.

Stem pointed up a little and slightly shortened (not intentional, my skills with a tape where lacking that day but it doesn't appear to be toooooo bad). Whilst I prefer a flat back and the ability to pull up on the bars, it'd be nice to see a few views whilst out on hybrid jaunts.

Leaving this as the final setup (he says) for the year. Time to go annoy some mountain bikers!
