    Gym Toilets

Why is it that every gym i've ever been a member of has toilets that smell of vomit?

If your making yourself sick from your exercise routine surely you are taking it too far.

I mean I can almost understand the woman's ones smell of vom*, but as a man, its shocking to find them in the mens.

*because half of the woman I see at the gym are determined to perturb the natural aging process, will crash diet on anything, self harm in any way possible, and bulimia is just par for the course. On this note i've been appalled by the behavior of gym box staff in London, a friend of mine who is clearly suffering from esteem issues and bipolar disorder is constantly upsold classes, she is clearly anorexic and on a path to self destruction, but their business model involves exploiting that.

and they have 0 in London

Even the nice private gym we had when i was at a hedge fund used to have the tiny oder of vom masked by cleaning chemicals. Its just so odd.

Can't comment of gym toilets, but the last set of changing rooms I was in reminded me of being as school. Sweaty socks, wet clothes, grass, mud and a slight smell of urine.

The joys of a private golf club, even when you aren't playing golf.

The gym I used to work in never smelled of vomit anywhere unless we had a wedding party or a prom in the function room

A dab of Vicks under each nostril and you're sorted.

If it works for masking the smell of corpses, it may just work for the smell of toilets.

Um, guess I'll try to detect the smell of vomit next time I go to the gym (Central London). There are definitely smell of chemicals sometime, but I don't recall the vomit part.

@Funkstar, mostly, if you are in Aberdeen. Have you been to that Aberdeen Sports Village? It's really quite impressive.

I am just gutted they are only opening it now. The construction started when I was doing my dissertation which was a nuisance (I am basically across it) and now that I only go back during breaks, they open that place. And it's actually *cheap*(-ish).

I should point out at this junction I do have a keen sense of smell. Its really bloody annoying, and I ignore it most of the time.....

And in defense of the un-named Gyms (but seeing as there are three ubiquitous ones in central London, its obvious) they always mask it up with chemicals, but it is still there, the undeniable stench.

No, not been. And as I'm not exactly sporty I can't see me visiting any time soon

I'll stick to TransitionExtreme if I do want to do anything active.

It's the big white building behind Linksfield Academy, you can see it from the beach promenade. Near Pitodrie.

It wasn't the smell of vomit...
