Do you think setting a goal is a good place to start when trying to lose weight?

for the past 3 months i have been trying (not very hard) to lose a few pounds, and i think in that 3 months i've lost a smidge over a stone...

I've worked out if i can cut my eating back to 1800-2000 calories per day and stick to it (something i have been doing well the past couple of weeks) then i should lose about 2lb per week...

does this sound like a healthy average?

ideally i want to be about 200lbs... which is 14 stone 4lbs i think... which should see me about right for my height (6'2")...

do you think it would be betetr to set a goal for that weight or just keep picking away at it slowly like i have been doing? (I think on average i have lost a lb per week since january)...

did any of you guys set a date/goal to lose weight as i have seen a fair few successes on hexus... just wondering if you had a specific goal in mind?
