Hes in the US OPEN semis again with a probable showdown with Djokovic in the final, but he has to beat Berdych first who appears in good form but tends to chokes - then again so does Murray

Make no bones about this , this would outshine his Olympic win by a big leap , grand slams are the pinnacle of the game with Wimbledon being the 3rd .

Heres the guy hes playing against who - will not as fast - definitely has the power edge when hes on, as Federer found out.

I think he will probably beat Berdych but not so sure about Djoko ( Id have to say Djoker is fav IMHO )

His form has picked up lot since he lost to Andy during the summer .

I give Murray a 25 - 30 %

Though Murray prob played some of the best tennis I have ever seen from him against Raonic

Is a grand slam really a big leap over the Olympic title? Was the quality of the players not similar to that of the players in the grand slams? Was Federer not a legitimate finals opponent?

You make it sound like Wimbledon is the 3rd most important, when presumably you meant third in terms of the calendar year.

Just look at the winners of the Olympics in Tennis to see how little importance it has had , its really only become more important since the last one which had the top 4 , before that Im not even sure if the top 4 even bothered.

GS's are LOT more important.

I bet no one here even knows who Nicolas Massu is , yet he won both singles & doubles in 2004 in Athens.

BTW Federer was actually there that year too ,and just happened to lose to the very same Berdych who beat him yesterday.

His ( Massu's ) accolades other than that 6 titles was reaching 9 in the ranking ( his highest )

it is , its the 3rd and the most well known , but there is no ranking for which GS is considered superior so technically they are all the same - partly because their all different surfaces ( although US and OZ open are both types of hardcourt )

In the past a lot of players who were " clay court specialists " ( basically what Nadal is ) wouldnt even play Wimbledon - but Wimbledon itself has changed a lot become more slower easier for guys like Nadal than back in the 90s .

Andre Agassi for example played once i think in 87 before avoiding it till 91 .

5th GS final and 2nd for this year ( His best so far without doubt ) but he'll have to play a tighter match than match if Novak wins the other semi.

hah mentions winds were tough in the interview , and that coming from Scotland thats saying something !!
