Well, one of the top three is out but Murray still won't do it- to many 'mental hang-ups'.

Glad all these new players are giving the top seeds a run for their money.

Re: WIMBLEDON - Can Murray do it ???

He has a 10% chance of winning it now, up from 6%.

Re: WIMBLEDON - Can Murray do it ???

I think his odds of makiing the final are good, but winning the whole thing is another beast altogether.

Id give him 15% in the final if he makes there, and 60% chance against any one else other than Fed or Djoker..

Roger and Djoker are not invincible but Murray is going to have really serve well ( esp his 2nd serve ) and play aggressive - which is no really his natural game .

Of course with Nadal out , all the other guys are going to be boosted too - esp guys like Raonic who have already given guys like Federer a lot of trouble.

Id wager theyd far rather face Murray than him - because unlike Murray he can really hurt them ( esp with that serve )

    What new player ?

The guy who beat Nadal is 26-27 so hardly new , the only new guy as such I see really is that American- Baker who was off the tour 7 yrs with operations.

Even most unseeded players arent exactly new i.e. guys like Stepanek or Haas ( who has been no 2 in the world )

Re: WIMBLEDON - Can Murray do it ???

This was his first Wimbledon or something I thought?
So he's new in that sense.

Really enjoyed the match last night, insane amount of power.

Not sure if Murray can win it, I mean, if Rosol played like he did last night, he could beat anyone in my opinion.

Im pretty sure he would of played qualifying for Wimbledon , but technically you could be right.

Ah, IF .. my Favourite word

I think its safe to say he prob will never play like that again - sometimes it happens in Tennis on a big stage - but not often - and def not with someone ranked so low against the top 10 nevermind 1 or 2 in the world.

Nadal has had his fair sure of badluck , which is lucky for others otherwise he might already be considered the GOAT, but hes getting close..

Murrays chances look very good - his biggest remaining threat Del Porto ( big guy ) or Tsonga are not as consistent , but have the potentially to blow him away.

Have to say Murray isnt playing great though - if he plays that passive against a Fed or Djoker or Tsonga - hes in trouble..

    My Pick... Del Porto

He's from Dunblane which is nearer Stirling than Glasgow.

I reckon Murray has as a good chance of winning. He's a damn good tennis player who is perfectly capable of beating Federer, Djokovic and Nadal. It's just up till now he's not managed to beat them in the semis or finals of anything!

Ahh fair enough. (Only watch Tennis when Wimbledon is on lol!)

He played really well though against Nadal. Shame he couldn't do it again in the following round.

I'll be surprised in Murray can do it this year. As always the competition is tough. Be good if he could though.

no worries, its common err and kinda funny , bit like me wathing football when Euro or world cup is on - then everyone is new

Murray wont get chances like this at a major often , so he better take them .

Be great if a fellow Scot was in the BIG W final because it prob will never happen in my lifetime again !! ( plus my other country just lost in the Euro finals - so i need a lift )

I want see him do Popeye at some point too.

I'm not so cheesed off with Wimbledon itself, but more the BBC coverage of it....

They dump shows with no apology or warning, on both std def and High def channels.... Why not leave it on std, and let the scheduled programme run on HD ?

Missed Raiders of the Lost Ark last night. Even BBC2 where they could have dumped the tennis was showing some non scheduled old B&W pop show with Jimi Hendrix... BBC2 at that time *should* have been showing tennis...

    No sense in it..

    Sorry to hijack

Fantastic game. My only concern is that Federer doesn't make mistakes like those Tsonga did. Still, Murray has beaten Federer before so there's every chance he'll do it.
