Nope.
nope
I think the problem is he`s british and as such the press pile pressure on him so much.
There is a better chance of him winning the us or australian as the media circus is less intense there but as Steve and Andre agassi have said he`s playing in an era when we have Roger who is the best player I`ve ever seen play, Nadal who is a monster with his shots and Djokovich who seems to be on fire atm.
Maybe in another era he`d have won a slam or 2 but atm its looking unlikely which is a shame because he is a good player.
I think he regards himself as Scottish, rather than British, doesn't he? (I'm sure I read it, it could be a myth but his Davis Cup record isn't the best.)
Anyway, I would suggest that he is capable of doing it but I don't think that he will.
He's British until he loses, then hes scottish![]()
Its strange era - overall youd say not as much depth as others and people like Tsonga with one of the best ever top ten records in H2Hs, yet mentally fail.
Also consider Nadal is serious GOAT contender now and you have a potential 2 goats ( fed being 1st ) in one era - which is unheard of .
So you could easily argue ( with Djoker included ) this is the hardest era of all time when it comes to winning slams , because you have to go through djoker, nadal or fed to win a slam .
Then theres also Murrays own mentality in GS finals ( been in 3 and not even won a set ) .
Murray is capable of beating one of the 3 on tour but in GS its another matter.
He did beat Nadal x2 in GS semis, but both times Nadals knees were suspect.
Murray has never beaten 123 I think back2back , his best hope is hoping someone else with more firepower like an Isner or Raonic ( my outsider pick ) takes 1 - 2 out , and some luck / good day takes care of the rest.
in short prob 95 % no

Nope nope nope, and it ain't just him either, a lot of other very good players don't stand a chance either. When it comes to Wimbledon the top 3 players are at the top of their game and will always get to the final, unless a shocker is upon us! lol.
Yeah all 3 normally get to the final, true.

^I get a bit annoyed by all the flag waving. They're playing to line their own pockets, not for their country and Murray hardly ever bothers to turn up for The Davis Cup.
Would you like to know something else that really gets my goat with tennis? You would? Well thanks for asking; it's the attitude of the players when they want towels. Between every shot, point at ball boy/girl, wipe face, throw towel. Not a word of thanks from any of them. How rude. Bah.
Tennis...Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........
have you ever played tennis ?
Its 90 % mental
10% extremely physically - and there is no coaching like in boxing , not only that but the score system itself is designed to mentally mislead you i.e. theres only 2 points between 15- 15 and 15 -40 but it feels like your already under the gun.
Those guys are so wired in they simply cant allow lapses , saying thank u after each point would slow the game down - be a waste of time .
Ball kids are mostly just fans , so more than happy.

One Spanish Bull down , 11 more to go.
VAMOS !

Of course now with Nadal out the pressure will be immense on Murray to make the final as hes the highest seed - he will may have to go through Tsonga or Ranoic first though, who are definitely capable of beating him.
As ol' JR would say this is shaping up to be slobberknocker folks!
c'mon MUZZA !!
