Add Scotland, Wales,Northern Ireland and England together....and it's hard to see which other small island mass is so AWESOME!!!!!!

British Shooting clinched their first Gold medal of the Glasgow 2014 Games thanks to Team England’s David Luckman and Parag Patel in the Queen’s Pairs fullbore, with Scotland also winning Bronze.

The duo attained the Gold medal with a score of 595.77, beating Canada who finished second with 592.54.

Scotland’s Angus McLeod and Ian Shaw finished in third with a score of 590.65v to secure Bronze after a long two days of shooting.

After the announcement of their Gold, Patel said “I’m chuffed to bits like you wouldn’t believe it, the competitions been really tough, the Canadians and Australians were both pushing us right to the wire so we’re pleased with the result.

“The Gold is fantastic for us, it’s a home games in essence for us so it’s great for British Shooting.”

Whilst Patel was enjoying his third Commonwealth Games, Luckman was making his Commonwealth bow, and the 38-year-old acknowledge the experience of his team-mate may have come in handy.

On Patel’s experience, Luckman added “It’s been useful, there’s obviously all of the things that aren’t here usually when shooting like cameras and things like that.

“He’s the best person to shoot with, we’ve grown up together shooting with each other for 20 years so it’s been really good to achieve this together.”
