right.. so what do you need from us?

If you tell us where you live (roughly) we can plot a route on google map and post it and you can try it for us?

You won't be saying that when you get a sports massage on it. Pretty much all you'll be saying is fffffff...argh....hnnmgggg.

Once they finish though, and you've managed to prise your teeth out of the massage table you'll feel _much_ better.

Took 2 sessions to get mine sorted.

Make sure you get someone who specialises in sports/deep tissue massage though, I suspect girly aromatherapy stuff won't work.

Re: Motivate Me: The HEXUS Excercise thread : post your pain ;-)

Up at 4:45 this morning to catch a lift into London with a friend (he avoids the traffic). Did 3.5 miles of interval runs in Hyde park, interspersed with 10x burpees or press-ups or broad jumps etc. Then finished off with some evil bear crawls for 30m, then 30m broad jumps, then 30m burpee broad jumps, then 30m sprints x4 with 10 press-ups at each end. Was a little finished by the end - my upper body strength is crap.

Then road a boris bike 3 miles to work.

After work rode a boris bike 2.5 miles to Waterloo

Then my friend failed to collect me from the station to return to my car, so I had to run/walk 2.5 miles home with my day pack.

I am tired. I now need to sleep

One can never stop saying Thank You

Not much tbh - like I say my biking is almost all for commutes, and I can't be bothered logging the 2.5miles to work as it just doesn't count as a work out in my opinion. The majority of my exercise comes from climbing, and I've got plenty of support to push on with that (two (potentially three) different climbing groups - if I'm not carefully I'll end up spending all my spare cash on climbing!).

    Speaking of which:

    Two trips out this week:
On Wednesday I went out with a load of mates I've known for a couple of years but never got round to climbing with. We hit Awesome Walls in Stockport as usual, and my lack of recent climbing really showed as I didn't complete a single wall harder than 5+ (I normally climb at 6a). The nice thing about Awesome Walls is it's totally bikable from home, and at > 4 miles it's a decent workout. The journey there has a lovely downhill stretch at the end on a 40mph zone: I haven't hit the speed limit there yet, but it will come Coming home I bike up the hill on a quieter road for safety - it's often quite hard work after the climbing but it certainly keeps the muscles warm until I get on the flatter section of the ride. Last week I was on my mountain bike due to a puncture, so the speeds are a little lower than I'd normally like to hit: I should have the new inner tube in before this Wednesday so later in the week I'll be able to post up the kinds of times I should be doing this run in!

Strava traces for the outbound journey: http://www.strava.com/activities/180045769 and the homeward leg: http://www.strava.com/activities/180045884

Then on Sunday I met up with some of my usual climbing group (although I hadn't seen them in over a month, I think). They were keen to do some outdoor climbing (despite weather), so we headed over to Dove Stones Reservoir - it's a nice option in questionable weather because you can get a good outdoors tramp in whether you end up climbing or not As it is, the heavens opened with us less than 5 minutes walk from the car. Then closed. Then opened again. Then closed again .... well, you get the picture.

In between the showers, I grabbed my mate Doug's old climbing shoes off him (mine have stretched and are way too big now) and tested them out on some nice easy boulders at Wimberry Rocks - a few warm ups off the named routes, then one climb on the Tank boulder (which I don't know the name of, but will try to post up later!). New shoes that actually fit properly make such a difference to climbing! Sadly the damp moss on most of the faces made climbing next to impossible, and with the weather looking threatening we decided to call it for the day and retreat to a local pub for refreshments before heading home for dinner. Sadly no pics of the outing this time (I was so excited by the new shoes that I forgot to take any!), but if you google the area you can get some idea of the kind of scenery we were looking at I promise I'll remember to take some snaps next time I'm out!

Just been for my first run in about 6 or 7 weeks - been really lazy (not injured or anything, just lazy) so I've piled on a few pounds. 5k in 28:19, so not too terrible but now that the weather is cooling off a little I'll be out there running regularly again and looking to get back under 25 mins.

Monday night: 4 mile hilly cross country trail run at 8pm

Tuesday: 10 mile commute on bike

Wed: Biked 5 miles, albeit on a Boris, so not a speed session exactly.

Kayaked tonight 4.5 miles in prep for an upcoming race, just to get the muscles moving.

Pushed myself quite far with barbell squats yesterday, was planning on doing some mountain biking today but might have to postpone that...

    Went here yesterday: http://www.sasuke-park.jp/course
It is basically a "theme park" based on a TV show (Ninja Warrior in the English speaking world) where they do similar things.
Fun way for an amazing workout, I am sore all over today. I definitely need more finger / grip strength. Couldn't clear Stage 3, a prerequisite for attempting the Final Stage and Sasuke Stage (Extra Stage).

This morning was a 10 mile cross country run that turned into 13 miles, followed by 10 miles on the mtb. Wasn't as hard/fast as I wanted as my teammate fell apart on the bike, but I was tired this afternoon nonetheless.

All good. Am curious whether the daily 10 mile commute is going to make much of a difference in next weekend's short adventure race

One can never stop saying Thank You

Re: Motivate Me: The HEXUS Excercise thread : post your pain ;-)

Did a 6hr Questars adventure race in Swanage/Purbeck area today.

    Our stats:
    Trail running: 16 miles orienteering
    MTB: 28 miles orienteering
kayak 2.3 miles orienteering on Poole Harbour (we cut it short)

Very cool event, as usual. My teammate was a first timer, and did very well. We actually managed to move our entry into the exclusive 7hr elite division, the sole entry therein, by cleverly getting our timings wrong. We blitzed the return cycle leg, screaming into the finish to get under the wire and avoid a penalty of 5 points for every minute over, and on dibbing into the finish checkpoint were a little puzzled at the 7hr 1min timing. Until it dawned on us..........DOH!

Fantastic fun, two other friends entered (one also on for his first event) and came 7th out of 15 teams in the Masters mens pairs category, despite a massive lack of training. Both in the 40's (like me).

There's really no excuse for not getting out there, if you want to have a good time, and get fit doing it.

One can never stop saying Thank You

    You sir are a mentalist.

10k for me. Can tell I've had six weeks off since my Ironman as it took over an hour vs the 49 mins earlier in the year. Ah well, 197 days until IM Melbourne to get back into shape!

5 times up Box Hill, once on foot, three times on the bike, then once on foot again. And it rained. A lot.....

    I am SO sore.
