    x58 and ssd

    i got an asus px58d-e x58 motherboard with the marvell controller on sata 3.. im after an ssd but iv read some ssd's are slow on the marvell controllers.. i was thinking of a vertex 3 120gb by ocz but some say they have slow speeds with these.. any recommendations would be fantastic.. ta..

    its still faster than on a sata2 so dont let it worry you.

    Yep, you won't be getting the full grunt of Sata 3, but compared to a regular HDD, it will be light years faster. And when you upgrade, you'll be getting even better performance.
