    SSD and Hard Drive

    Hi

Is there any benefit to attaching a serial II hard drive to the 6 gb connection on the motherboard, won't it go just as fast on the 3gb connection

    Re: SSD and Hard Drive

No, there's no advantage - as you suggest, it'll just be downgraded to SATA2 speeds

    Re: SSD and Hard Drive

no, HDDs, can't even utilize the max speeds on SATA2, let alone on SATA3 connection, so no point in doing that.

but it won't do any harm either. if the port is free and all your SATA3 devices are already plugged into SATA3 ports, you can plug that HDD in a remaining one.
