Hi all,can any body tell me if there is any compatability problems, between vertex4 128gig ssd and a sandisk 240gig by having diferent controllers,on a z68xp-ud3p motherboard, with a i5-2.500 processor (sandybridge).I all ready have the vertex but want to get the sanddisk to go with it.Thanks islander.

    Re: compatability.

what do you mean by "to go with it"? Are you planning RAID? Or just want both attached, independently, to your system?

If RAID - the difference in size and speeds will be a bit of an issue, but it will work...
If independent - you wont have any problems, they will run off different drivers (you will need to install the sanddisk controllers) but there will be no conflicts.

P.s. the SandDisk is not one of the better SSDs available. If your looking on Scan, spend an extra £10 and get the Kingston HyperX - this is a very fast, very well made, drive

    Re: compatability.

Hi islander - there shouldn't be any compatibility issues running two different makes of SSDs, just like you can run two different makes of HDDs no problem. I would use the 128gb SSD as a cache drive, ie set windows to use this for your page file, temporary internet caches and photoshop etc. cache, as well as anything you can't fit on the 256gb SSD of course.
