The Samsung 830 is already one of the best SSDs out there, but this new model really seems to break away from the rest of the pack.

Of course the question is whether the average consumer really needs this kind of performance, but for anyone who wants the best this really seems to be it for SATA SSDs.

Yeah it looks nice.. maybe we're hitting the limits of SATA 6gbps as well. Bring on the cheap PCIe version please

If anything will be limiting the SSD its deffo ICHXR chip... They haven't got considerably faster in ages now.

I guess Samsung need to do something so they can raise their prices and make some decent money from SSDs again.

There are a few drives at the same level as the 830 so they are competing on price. Nothing touches the 840 (on paper at least) so they can charge a premium for this.

I wonder what this will do to the market when available.

If this means 830 prices drops then I'm getting me a 250gb 830
