    Re: 64 or 128gb ssd?

For me 128GB is the minimum to have! I'm waiting to receive a 128GB SSD...and my Win7 C partition is 190GB...(yeah with a lot of things to delete and all my virtual machines)....a lot of work is waiting me! Couldn't even think to a 64GB for the system!

I waited until there was an affordable 256Gb. I already used over half of it, and I only have Windows, Office and a couple of smallish games installed (and only files, data is pointed elsewhere). I wouldn't even want to think about 64Gb.

Could try turn off hibernation and some other windows stuff. Saves in excess of 20-30GB in total on my samsung.

    Re: 64 or 128gb ssd?

128GB definitely. Allows for your most used programs to be installed without impacting performance. Cheaper in the long run!

64GB is a bit low and SSDs show some slowness when it gets near full.

May I ask where you got these prices for? I'm currently in the market for an SSD and shopping around for good prices

    Re: 64 or 128gb ssd?

I'm going with the samsung 830 128GB myself. I checked the size of my steam folder, if you're going to game, plan for unnoticed bloat in my opinion.

Defo 128gb, either Samsung or M4 id edge to Samsung if it was me.

Definitely go for the 128gb, the 128gb version outperforms the 64gb version

    Re: 64 or 128gb ssd?

As with the rest, yeah... not much of a price difference, get the bigger one.

I'm using a 240GB drive for windows, and most of my programs/games, and I've basically ran out of space. I had intended to only put some games/apps onto it rather than them all, but having started using it I don't like having things on the slow running HDD any more =\.... So yeah, I'd say get as big as you can reasonably afford.

Plus, speed scales up with size in most cases with an SSD, due to parallelism.
