    HDD Cooling

Can anybody suggest a way to keep a stack of HDDs at less than skin-burning temperatures without drastic measures such as an oil bath or vast amounts of real-estate?

The case intake fan I have drives air over a stack of 5 drives but the result is pretty inadequate.

What model of drives are they?

What temperatures are currently being reported? (to find out you can use for example CrystalDiskInfo)

    What case do you have?

There are two old Maxtor 160Gb drives, one Samsung 320Gb and a pair of Samsung 1Tb drives. They're all 7200 rpm models.

SpeedFan reports temperatures in SMART ranging between 50 and 65 degrees unless I leave the side off the case, in which case, the temps drop by between 5 and 10 degrees.

The case is a ThermalTake Xaser III.

I have currently disconnected most of the case fans and left the side off the case, but I'm having to remove tons of dust regularly.
