Samsung Magician - Is It Needed?

    Hi,

I am using Windows 8 Pro and have recently got a Samsung 840 256GB drive.

I have installed Windows 8 on it but whenever it goes to sleep it keeps waking up, powercfg shows the last wake event as Samsung Magician so my question is, is Samsung Magician actually required for anything?

    Thanks
    Jon

Not essential day to day. Useful for firmware updates and the like.
I install it when I need it.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Ah ok thats fine, I just didn't know if there was any SSD specific features it implemented apart from like you said firmware updates.
