Hopefully picking a nexus up from tesco after work. Will be my 2nd android tablet, found the advent vega to be a bit too big for my requirements.

The outside looks a bit carbon fibre-ry and the inside feels like suede. IKWYM tho and cases are down to personal taste - for example I prefer neoprene slip on cases for phones and some people hate those!

Well a tesco fail. I went in to pick up my new nexus to find that there was no nexus and the very helpful staff couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I tried but the promised phone call back has not happened.

God knows when I will get it now.

Picked it up from the Tesco across from work at lunchtime, very happy with it so far. Seems very fats compared to my SGS2, and the modded Advent Vega. Just on the hunt for some apps to fill it up with, also some accessories (case, stand, etc). Just need somebody to bring a case out with a usb connector in the bottom, and someplace to plug a sdcard into.

Got iplayer installed and working, any pointers for a good strategy game?

Case fits really nicely and I can confirm the nexus does wake and sleep automatically when the case is opened/closed. Nice touch!
Now wish my ipad case was like that - doh!

I bought a zagg screen protector for mine. They're very good although quite pricey. Don't want my glass getting scratched, it might look naff but I'll have to get used to it.

This thing is the best thing ever, I love it!

I'm used to sense so it's a bit of an experience trying to customize, it's almost making me want to put something more stock on my one x!

Videos were all jerky earlier on so i started uninstalling things, discovered it was ultimate rotate (which allows you to rotate the home screen). Such a shame as i like doing it, might have to hunt down an alternative.

Is anyone having issues with responsiveness of the screen? My device arrived few days ago and yesterday touch screen completely stopped responding meaning I can't unlock the god damn thing!
Pressing the power button brings the unlock icon but I can't move it anywhere... Looks like touch screen gave the ghost up.

Tablet is completely unusable as things stand and I have to RMA it or get a refund as the whole experience been awful so far

If anyone else would like a rotating homescreen, there is a fix for Ultimate Rotation othe Nexus 7:

Note for Nexus 7 users: various comments indicates that this app causes
lag during video playback. Until I have implemented a "proper" workaround,
you can enable forced auto only in the apps that really need it. To arrange
it for the launcher (which does not appear in the per app list) use the
following trick:
- set the default mode to auto instead of forced auto.
- when on the home screen tap on the notification. In the dialog which
appears, set the global/per app toggle to per app and choose forced auto
