Network problem with Thecus N4100 - drops IP-address
Hi all!
I'm having some problems with my Thecus N4100. It has 4 x 750 GB Seagate Barracuda disks in it and is set up with Raid 5. The NAS is connected to a DLink DIR-655 router with a cable. The problem is that every now and then the NAS drops out of the network. Sometimes during a copy, other times during program execution. And it can do that when transferring data through a network cable, wireless, when copying a file: from NAS to NAS, from computer to NAS, from NAS to computer, ftp etc. Some times it can go for days without a problem, other times it drops the network connection a few minutes after having restarted the NAS. More info about the NAS: Firmware: 1.3.04 RAID Level: RAID 5 Status: Healthy Stripe Size: 64 KB This is really becoming annoying and I would really like to find a solution to this problem. Have anyone of you out there experienced similar problems, or better, do you have ideas of how to fix it? Thanks, Bjørn |

Re: Network problem with Thecus N4100 - drops IP-address
If You have dynamic IP via DHCP try to gice the N4100 a fix IP adress - at least these helps some N5200 owners to solve such connection drop issues.

Re: Network problem with Thecus N4100 - drops IP-address
Dear Sir,
Please try on this N4100 beta version firmware V1.3.05.3, this version enhanced the conf.bin to get more information about RAID, HDD & network configuration for analysis. http://www.thecus.com/Downloads/beta...e.1.3.05.3.bin And the N4100 have 2 LAN ports, if possible please direct connection a PC to N4100 via another LAN port, and other PCs using as usual, while this issue happen again, please try to via direct connection to verify the N4100 is working or not. Once if we could access to N4100 via the direct conneciton, please download the conf.bin from web configuration page: System->Config Mgmt->Download, and mail to support@thecus.com for us analysis. Yvon.
