    RAID level migration question

    I'm going to be migrating a 2 drive RAID-1 array to a 3 drive RAID-5 array soon.

Does there need to a certain amount of free space on the existing array for this to work? This is on a N5200Pro

I'm copying across a full 1TB drives worth of data before using that empty drive as the third one in the NAS. Then I'll copy another 1TB drive worth of data, and use that asthe 4th drive.

Should I leave som free space before making the migration?

    2. Volume usgae less than 90% would be better.
