    how to add additional HDD to RAID1-mirror

    Hi,

    I have two 500GB HDDs setup as RAID1 but how to add an additional HDD to it currently configuration???

    I have N5200 Pro with switch

    Not as spare. I like all HDDs to have data on them. This way as long as total # of working HDDs minus x number of crash HDDs is =>2 than, I am okkk

    Your only option (if you don't like RAID1 + 1 hot-spare) would be to migrate to RAID5. This would give you a total of 2x500GB usable space.

    Note: make sure your NAS canot be brought down during migration (power loss, ...). This would destroy your data.
