Permission Issues

Somehow it looks like a user got deleted from my passwd file as now there are multiple orphaned files with UID 22773 belonging to the user group. What are the correct user and group owners for the following files?

after ssh'ing in:

root@127.0.0.1:/etc# ll |grep 22773
-rwxr-xr-x    1 22773    users          18 Mar 17 14:21 HOSTNAME*
-rw-r--r--    1 22773    users         265 Mar 25 09:10 group
-rwxr-xr-x    1 22773    users          62 Mar 17 14:21 hosts*
-rwxr-xr-x    1 22773    users          42 Mar 17 14:21 resolv.conf*

The web interface is now pretty buggy when in the users, groups, and folders screens.

The original issue i was trying to troubleshoot before I apparently compounded the problem is this interesting issue:
I've created a user who can ssh into the box, once in

userA@127.0.0.1:/raid/data$ ls -al
drwxrwxrw-    3 admin    buusers      4096 Mar 25 09:18 backups/
drwxrwxrw-    5 admin    buusers      4096 Mar 25 09:01 home/

userA@127.0.0.1:/raid/data$ cd home
-sh: cd: home: Permission denied
userA@127.0.0.1:/raid/data$ cd backups/
userA@127.0.0.1:/raid/data/backups$      <-- THIS WORKS BUT HOME DOESNT

userA:x:1003:102:Linux User,,,:/raid/data/home/userA:/bin/sh  <--from passwd
buusers:x:103:userA  <-- from group

I'm very confused why this user can get into one directory but not the other. Any help is appreciated!! Does the thecus use the passwd and group files for authenticating/setting permissions or is there some other db that must be sync'ed?

I have a similar problem.
I would like to specify user id so I changed uid in "/etc/passwd" ,
then that user is deleted from GUI.

How can I specify UID ?

i set group to admin:users which has been working for the most part, but the gui is still not perfect.
