Problem with AFP file timestamps
When I copy files from my mac using the finder to my N5200PRO via AFP, the file timestamps are not preserved. Instead, I get the current time as the created & modified times.
If I use CIFS, it does properly preserve timestamps. I am running 10.5.2 on the Mac (Leopard), and 2.00.04 on the N5200PRO. Any thoughts? |

Re: Problem with AFP file timestamps
I did the same copy from a Mac running Tiger - 10.4.11. That works properly. Perhaps something in the Leopard client changed, and 10.5 does not work properly with Thecus.
I had the same problem with my ReadyNas box, but they just released a patch to AFP that fixes the problem. |

Re: Problem with AFP file timestamps
I have the exact same problem. I am running OS X 10.5.2 and the 5200PRO is 2.00.04 firmware.
I am not happy about moving all my photos/videos to the 5200 if the create date is lost. If you find a solution (either an update to OS X or a Thecus firmware upgrade) I'd love to hear it. I was starting to look if the backup utility was able to preserve the create date ... |

Re: Problem with AFP file timestamps
Weird. I just tried with my 10.4.11 equipped G4 and copying a file to my Thecus
preserved the create and modified date. I tried again with my G5 running 10.5.2 and now the create and modified dates are preserved as well. I can't explain why all the copied files from my first attempt on the G5/10.5.2 didn't seem to work - and now they do. Derek |

Re: Problem with AFP file timestamps
I have just tried this and not found a problem, while copying the date says today, but once copied its fine. I'm using 10.5.2 and a 5200pro on 2.00.04
