N1200 any power management, WOL etc?
Hello,
has N1200 any power management (scheduled shut down down, HDD spin down) and can it be repowered by WOL? If curently not, would Thecus consider this for a future firmware version? Best regards Matthias |

Re: N1200 any power management, WOL etc?
Dear Sir,
The schedule poewer up/doen & spindown related whole system structure, thus N1200 won't support this function in future. and the WOL function related to hardware design. But N5200 PRO support above functions......... Yvon. |

Re: N1200 any power management, WOL etc?
Thanks for the reply. I asked because the small N1200 would be additional to a "big" NAS like N5200PRO a perfect replacement for single external drives as often used for backup/ offsite storage. Scheduled power up in the evening when the backup software starts, power down if the last job is finished, WOL if access to the backup sets is necessary, and regularely the complete unit is swapped with another one out of a set of let's say three N1200 devices and goes offsite in the bank safe. Everything just like a "simple" single external hard drive, but with the full avantages of a NAS. With a N5200 I assume daily swapping and offsite storage of single drives is no good idea.
Best regards Matthias |
