N5200 removed the data from usb after copying to "usbcopy" folder
I had to unplug and replug the usb-drive so it showed the data was still on the usb-drive.

Re: N5200 removed the data from usb after copying to "usbcopy" folder
Dear Sir,
Would you please confirm the difference between \\IP\USBHDD\ & \\IP\USBHDD\sdXX? \\IP\USBHDD\ is an data volume on the RAID, \\IP\USBHDD\sdXX just the volume on the USB drvier. Yvon. |

Re: N5200 removed the data from usb after copying to "usbcopy" folder
Yes, Im aware, but, after I copied the data via the front panel button, the next morning, I checked the \\IP\USBHDD\sdf1 and none of the data was there, however, after i unplugged and replugged the usb-drive....all the data reappeared or was still there but it would not show up unless i disconnected the drive, sounds like a bug. This was similar when I had the raid-5 target-usb allocated to 700gb and I would have it connected to a windows xp formatted in ntfs working perfectly, but when I unplugged it from that pc and replugged it, it would not show up in windows, even in disk-management regardless if i rebooted the pc. The only way i would always have to work around this is by rebooting the n5200 via the web-interface....this sounds like another bug. I tried this on multiple pc's (laptops and desktops) with the same results and that is why I removed the target-usb allocated space and dedicated 100% to data. I can easily use my other external usb-drives which i have plenty of. By the way I'm using firmware-2.0.0.8.
Now this was not the case when the target-usb was formatted in ext3 and connected it to another Linux host as there were no issues plugging and unplugging the target-usb, as this bug seems to be with windows hosts and ntfs formatted target-usb. |

Re: N5200 removed the data from usb after copying to "usbcopy" folder
Dear Sir,
If system complete front panel USB copy would auto unmount/eject this front panel USB device, thus we could verify the USB drvier from admin page: STORAGE->DISKS before one button copy, after copy complete we could reload the WEB page to verify this. Yvon. |
