Cannot map non-public folder as network drive on N5200
Hi,
I am trying to map a non-public, non-browseable folder on my N5200BR. I have created a user and changed the ACL settings for the folder so that the user and the "users" group have full write access. Later I would like to restrict access to only a few users, once I have this working. Here is how I tried to map it (using Windows XP Pro, with latest updates): 1. Windows Explorer > Tools > Map Network Drive 2. Select drive letter, Type "\\N5200\myfolder" 3. Click the "Connect using a different user name" link and enter username/password previously created. 4. Click Finish. Then I get the dialog box shown here: ![]() 5. No matter what I enter at the dialog box, it keeps popping up until I hit cancel, even using the "admin" user or the "sys" user (from SYSUSER module). However, if I set the folder to be public, I can map the network drive without ever clicking "Connect using a different user name" or going throught any username/password prompt. So why doesn't it work with ACL? Thanks jbl |

You also might need to login via Network neighbourhood and when you have should be able to map it

I'll reply to both of you in the same message.

Clicking the folder with ACL brings up a password prompt, but after entering the username and password (I tried with multiple users, all users set are set to writeable), I got an error message:
\\N5200\ACLtestfolder is not accessible. You migt not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of the server to find out if you have access permissions. Multple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I should mention that when I got this message, there were no network drives mapped to the N5200, and only one computer connected to the router with the N5200, and it was after upgrading the firmware and rebooting. Thanks, jbl |

Enter the username and password you assigned to this folder via the web interface. The username and password have to be defined via the web interface as well.

Re: Cannot map non-public folder as network drive on N5200
Hi,
I have the same problem, and if I am trying to connect to my N5200 via web interface, I am able to log in successfully, however then I try to enter a directory/folder/share point, I receive this error message: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME Plus information: I receive the same error if try to log in by smbclient. Any idea? |

Re: Cannot map non-public folder as network drive on N5200
Dear Sir,
1. Does this N5200 joined AD domain? 2. If N5200 IP at 192.168.1.100 please try with //192.168.1.100 3. How about FTP & WEB disk? |

Re: Cannot map non-public folder as network drive on N5200
Hi,
1. I do not use AD authentication, 2. of course I use double backslash before IP-address 3. FTP also does not work, that's why I turn it off. WebDisk service is turned on, but I receive same error, if I try to enter any folder. |
