    Cannot enable Jumbo Frames

I purchased a Thecus N5200BR pro and Everything so far has been fine including setup of a 4 disk RAID 5 array. But when i go to the WAN page (or the LAN page for that matter) i cannot enable Jumbo frame support. The option is greyed out. I am currently running firmware 2.00.08 and both the N5200 and my desktop are connected via a Netgear GS605 gigabit switch.

I have even tried using the built in 4 port switch and the WAN/LAN exchange support.

Any idea why it is not working? i see all kinds of posts on this site talking about jumbo frame support and size and such so i know that the system is capable of it.

    Thank you

    Re: Cannot enable Jumbo Frames

I have emailed a tech support at Thecus about this problem and the answer i got back is that the current version does not support jumbo frames on the model that i purchased. Look for the next major update 2.01.xx to re-enable jumbo frame support.

Now when that major update is going to happen i have no idea for now i am not too upset. The box is working great and the speeds i am getting are good. (20 - 30 MBs)

That doesn't mean i have stopped checking the update site every couple of days.

I have a N5200B PRO and FW version 2.00.14 doesn't work. It used to work on 2.00.08, but not anymore.

    Just for Info.
I have a non Pro N5200 (the version with only 2 network ports) and Jumbo Frames in FW 2.00.14 are still supported - at least from the GUI.

you can manually enable jumbo frames if you SSH to the box and use ifconfig to set the MTU.
