Player can't see server.
I've not played with a "rou-stor" Theucs before this 1200 taht just arrive. Nice and shiney, portable (the reason I got it) but... having attached it to my network via it's WAN port, my players can't see it.
Does the Mediabolic s/w only talk to teh "LAN" ports? But those are 10/100 not gig, so it'll take all day to load it up...!!! Plus it'll mean hard-coding coz there's no way to have two DHCP servers on the same physical network without breaiking one. Anyway to make Server play to both ports? |

Re: Player can't see server.
Hmm. Not long after this the WAN port died completely so I re-numbered the networks so only the LAN is connected now. Bit of pain loading it with videos at 100mbits. But more than that, teh players STILL can't see the server, so I have to assume this unit is nadgered, or that the f/w is all to cock somewhere along the ilne.
Anyone else got an N1200 yet? |

Re: Player can't see server.
I don't own a N1200, but don't You think it will help if You share the information which client You want to connect to the server - not all clients and servers are working together.

Re: Player can't see server.
Not really, it isn't showing up on ANY of my clients and I KNOW them to work with Thecus servers, having tried them with 299 and 3200 units.
But since you ask, (a) Solwise Media Player (b) Zyxel DMA-1000 and (c) Roku Soundbridge to start with. The first two are DLNA compliant and work fnid with other THecus units. The third is not, and doesn'tplay nice with all servers, but does seem happy with the N299. |
