5200 accessing internet
well i have a 5200 with a lan and a wan port on the back
anyway the 5200 lan port is set to 192.168.2.254 address and everything in that is fine access file share etc anyway i installed the bit torrent module to get some files then i figured out my wan port has never been connected (because i have a hardware router and i use that) and that all the dns settings if it wanted to go out on the net are on the wan port but cannot set the same ip segment on the wan port is there a way i can get the 5200 to talk to the net without setting up the wan port or is there another way thanks |

Re: 5200 accessing internet
You have to configure at least the DNS entry of the WAN port.
If I could do a recommendation : Connect Your N5200 via the WAN port to Your router and leave the LAN port empty I have it the same and - but I can't remember wath it was - some things are better working via the WAN port. br Peter |
