    Samba / Winbindd Performance Problems

We are just experiencing another Problem with our Thecus N5200PRO. After having serious trouble with Office 2007 file locking (which could not be resolved till now), now we have a brand new shiny unix problem.

    Symptoms:

    - Listing an directory with 10 Folders via SMB takes about 5 seconds.
    - Opening a Document with 500 kb takes nearly a minute

This is what top looks like:

    Code:
PID USER STATUS RSS PPID %CPU %MEM COMMAND
    26441 root S 2788 1 43.9 0.5 winbindd

I really cant understand why winbind should need that much performance. The shares without any ACL are very fast and are not experiencing any problems. Maybe someone got any idea?

    Thanks,
