Since there is an Apache server for the N5200 is there any chance of getting the webdav plugin for this?
Or is there another way to get a webdav type (map drive) interface over the net? I know that the 'webdisk' could be used but I need it to be able to access files with out having to download each one, then upload them again later. |

Re: webDAV for N5200?
Yes, I agree that would be awesome. I'm looking to setup Weave on my Thecus using WebDAV over SSL. This would provide password & bookmark synching without having to send my passwords out into the cloud.

Re: webDAV for N5200 - an alternative suggestion...
Hi,
What I've done, which arguably is somewhat more secure, is to setup VPN access to my home network. I can then map my network resources as normal after I'm connected over the secure tunnel. Dave. |

Re: webDAV for N5200?
I have noticed that the module for webdav is included in /opt/apache/modules
and I have also noticed that the web server add-in has the module activate. But I have never gotten webdav to work with apache, it is just over my head, and I don't really have time to play with it now, I might in a couple of weeks. I was thinking since all the parts are there Apache, mod_dav.so, mod_dav_fs.so I would think someone who knows how to set this up correctly should be able to get it going. And if they did it would be nice to share this knowledge. But as for now I am using CORE Mini SFTP server on my windows server, over samba as to not FUBAR the permissions. But Webdav[client] is built into windows and we could map it without special software. Last edited by ericdkirk; 30-09-2008 at 02:01 AM.. |
