Procedure to add disk to existing raid 1 on N5200

This has probably been answered before, but if so I can't find it. I have a N5200 with two seagate 750GB drives in a raid 1. I just bought an additional 750GB drive that I want to add and bring it from a two disk raid1 to a three disk raid 5.

What is the exact, correct procedure to do this. The owners manual is not clear on the correct procedure.

Also, how long will it take?

    Thanks,

    Stephen

You have to do a raid migration.
    - put the disc in
    - go to the raid admin pages
    - select there raid migration
    - select all 3 discs
    - start it

Take care that You have no powerloss during the migration and no reboot - it will taka a looooooong time.

If You have the possibility then backup all your data, destroy the existing raid1 and build a new raid5 and put the data back to the N5200 afterwards.

    Peter,

    Thanks for the reply.

Can anyone quantify a long time (for the migration)? A day? Three days? A week?
