| Hi All, Heres a brief description of whats happened. I had a 3 x 1tb Raid 5 and went to migrate to 4 x 1tb Raid 5. The migration started sucessfully and ran for 22 hours, on reboot I have lost my raid and all my folders. Here is my log: 2008/09/07 17:14:46 N5200 : User admin logged in from 192.168.1.100 2008/09/07 17:12:09 N5200 : Swap Disk Damage 2008/09/07 17:11:37 N5200 : Healthy: The system N5200 is healthy now. 2008/09/07 17:11:37 N5200 : Healthy: The system N5200 is healthy now. 2008/09/07 17:11:36 N5200 : N5200 boot 2008/09/07 17:11:35 N5200 : Can't mount data lvm 2008/09/07 17:11:34 N5200 : mdadm: /dev/md1 has been started with 3 drives. 2008/09/07 17:11:34 N5200 : Can't mount data lvm 2008/09/07 17:11:34 N5200 : Assemble RAID [md1] from [ /dev/sda2 /dev/sdb2 /dev/sdc2 ] 2008/09/07 17:11:33 N5200 : mdadm: /dev/md1 has been started with 3 drives 2008/09/07 17:11:32 N5200 : [Disk sdc] UUID[raid5;584e1913:5c4f92b7:37fa4856:cbdf47c5;Sat Jul 5 05:47:02 2008] 2008/09/07 17:11:32 N5200 : [Disk sdb] UUID[raid5;584e1913:5c4f92b7:37fa4856:cbdf47c5;Sat Jul 5 05:47:02 2008] 2008/09/07 17:11:32 N5200 : [Disk sda] UUID[raid5;584e1913:5c4f92b7:37fa4856:cbdf47c5;Sat Jul 5 05:47:02 2008] 2008/09/07 17:11:32 N5200 : Assemble RAID [md1] from [ /dev/sda2 /dev/sdb2 /dev/sdc2 ] I had opened a ticket with eu support by this time and they requested that I send them my conf.bin for analysis, this was 2 weeks ago and I have heard nothing form them despite asking politely for updates - I can only imagine that maybe there is one guy in support there and he is on holiday? My firmware was version 2.00.01 As I had heard nothing I decided to take matters into my own hands (yes I realise this is not always the best option, however as I do not have ssh access to the box anyway I knew I would need to upgrade the firmware to even allow a support technician to look at it). So the firmware is now 2.00.12 My log is now empty. i.e its not attempting to assemble any form of raid. I then reloaded my conf.bin file in an attempt to get it to rebuild from there. Still nothing. Can any brave sole answer the following: 1. Have I now stuffed my raid completely? 2. Do Thecus really have a technical support staff? 3. What would be your next move? Rgs Colin |
