| Successful with 2 TB drives? I am new to NAS (and RAID storage in general), but I just bought a N7700 and 3 Western Digital WD10EADS (1TB) drives to start with (no 2TB WD drives were on the list at the time I purchased). After reading about all the problems people are having with WD drives and the Thecus N7700 I am wondering if anyone is using the 2TB Hitachi, Deskstar 7K2000 HDS722020ALA330, or the 2TB Seagate, Barracuda LP ST32000542AS drives in the N7700 without problems. Both of these are on their HDCompatibility list, but I got the impression that some of the problem WD drives have been on the Thecus HDCompatibility list in the past and were later removed. This has me worried such that I am thinking of returning the WD drives and ordering either the Hitachi or Seagate drives in which case I could also go with the larger 2TB size. Any comments on this would be appreciated. jimmyb |
