Tidy solution Stoo. Visible wiring and especially ducting is my personal bugbear though, has to be in the wall for me.

Yeah, I'd have chased the wall out and done it properly if it wasn't for the fact that it's not my house

Re: EDIT- Mount center speaker on TV.

    My bits have arrived

I still need to get the wood and paint for the shelf but I'm estimating my total to be somewhere in the region of £30-35 total. it’s a bit more than Gonz0 although I had to pay for postage for the kit to be delivered and I have ordered a second set of brackets so I can sit my media centre behind the TV. I could have made a crossbrace for it and mounted it on the vesa holes (its an Acer Revo) although I would be cutting it fine on bracket length if i used the excess and i didnt really want to order more brackets. Il see how this goes!

I measured up my brackets and one of the holes matched up perfectly, result! I took the bracket into work and tried to drill out the other hole but it didn’t work at all as the spot for it is between bracket slots. I think it makes more sense for me to just cut out that entire slot and use the penny washers to make sure it still holds it, the upside to this approach is that I have a bit of room to adjust it to make sure the shelf is completely straight.

Another thing I have to do tonight is cut and file the bottom of the bracket off as currently its wayyyyy too big. It needs only to be about 60cm big and currently its 100cm

I will post up some pics later to show everyone how I get on.

fun night ahead, i also couldnt drill mid slot so i let the drill mash its way through and used long nosed grips to break off the extra.

penny washer ftw! (and they hide the sin)

Sorry to necro a really old thread, but did anyone come up with anything premanufactured? The Mrs is unlikely to let me loose with power tools.....

man up dude, all you do is cut down the rack shelf brackets you buy in B&Q and drill a couple of holes to allow you to mount it
