EDIT- Mount center speaker on TV.

I am looking for a decent price on a corner TV mount as i have a 50" plasma winging its way from John Lewis this Thursday.

The height from the stand to the panel is not enough to allow my center speaker so sit in front so i have no real option apart from sticking it on the wall so it floats above the cabinet that houses the other bits and bobs (reciever, V+, HTPC and Wi-Di box)

would rather not spend a small fortune on a bracket so I am asking if anyones seen something for a Tv up to 40kg ?

Re: need to wall mount new TV in the corner..

Id be tempted to fly it in the style of concert speakers. You'll need to find where the ceiling joists are. Should be too difficult, and Maplin will poss supply the steel wires.

    Would look intrestin too

needs to be mounted to the wall, not ceiling as someone walking in the bedrooms going to cause the set to shake.

Seems a decent price for what it is. Plenty of other options on that site too.

Re: EDIT- Mount center speaker on TV.

    thanks, titles now been edited.

decided i can do a good job using wickes shelving

twin slot shelving uprights screwed to the vesa mount and a shelf about an inch from the top so i can stick the center speaker on top without it looking stupid. vesa mounts 400mm apart and the speakers 430mm wide meaning it will be a near perfect fit

and cost about £15 to do!

1st pic shows the results, alternatives about £200 worth of custom mounting kit. this cost me all in about £25 including paint for the wood shelf.

pair of twin slot uprights from screwfix and short brackets from wickes.

twin slots bolted to the vesa mounts, shelf rests on top

did it in a hurry with point and shoot and the flash kills everything at close range!

trouble is homebase are white/silver only, the 2nd link seems to be the graphite black i have for a decent price!

screwfix do a twinpack for the same price wickes do singles, you just need to get the right length brackets (smaller then the depth of the center)

but screwfix only sell 10 packs of brackets

maybe ask a friend/family to drop into wickes for you ? all in the name of saving a few quid (also 50p less from wickes than advertised )

when you drill the holes, start small! make sure you read the tv instructions to find the vesa mount max depth so you don't bugger the panel long nose plyers are good for bending the bits of metal to the side if your drilling between slots as there is only about 5mm of metal there ( i had to drill 8mm holes for the bolts)

i used some of this to protect the back of the tv from the twin slot http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2707009900...84.m1439.l2649
