Whats the best value for money HD telly?

I still have a big bulky silver 32 inch Bush tv which still works like a dream but it takes up so much space so much so that I have to have a separate stand for my dvd player and freeview box. At present I haven't much cash, but when I do I want to upgrade to a new TV and experience HD. I have a a PS3 so that would look brilliant on a new TV. I wondered if any of you can recommend a good set to get thats value for money with price range about £200-£250 maybe £300. Would like it to be a big screen maybe 42,50 inch.

What size do you want?

In broad terms, i'd strongly recommend a visit to a Richer Sounds and talk to them, have a look at what you like the look of.

Edit: Sorry, hadnt spotted your original request.
You could consider a budget manufacturer such as Kogan, who produce a 42" for £389.
I'm not saying that i recommend them, mind you, just that they exist.

In my book you tend to get what you pay for, and having owned a Kogan tablet i feel i was lucky to have sold it on ebay for 80% of the original price.
I'll emphasise again - Richer Sounds.

I'm not sure you'll fit a 42" screen in a £300 price bracket.

Can't recommend Richer Sounds enough, got a 32" Sony, blu ray player & wifi dongle for £410 last September & they have one of the best extended warranties (5 years for 10% of the original price)

You're looking at 32" and maybe stretching to 42" if they are on promotional offer.

Panasonic / Toshiba for 32" if you can get it.
