Sale & Wanted Rules - Please Read

Please note : Access to For Sale is available only to members with a minimum of 100 posts on the forum. Anyone caught spamming the forums simply to gain access will either have their post count reduced or access to For Sale manually locked out.

Please ONLY post in a thread if you are interested in purchasing, or have a question about an item. Do NOT post comments along the lines of “I have one of these, it’s great” or “What a great price!” or anything unrelated to you being interested in purchasing an item.

Bottom line : If you are not interested in parting with your cash for what’s on offer, do not post.
If you have had your posted edited and pointed to this thread, you are probably guilty of this

If you are a new user and have been pointed here, please READ everything in this thread. Failure to do so may lead to your access being removed. DO NOT Private message mods asking what you have done wrong unless you have read everything and honestly dont know.

    • These forums are for use by members not traders this includes people buying in bulk for the purpose of resale. We will take immediate action of we find someone that is trading.

    • The selling of hardware recieved through running an editorial site is forbidden on HEXUS.net - you are not allowed to sell review samples provided for free to you.

    • No ES (Engineering Sample) chips can be advertised due to the NDA that is usually attached to them.

    • Technology related items only, this includes items such as mp3 players and digital cameras, A/V equipment, CD/DVD players etc. If in doubt contact a sale moderator first

    • No mobile phones or car audio for sale. This is to prevent possible legal problems with this kind of sales due to recent changes in the law.

    • No listings on ebay can be sold on Hexus at the same time

    • No knives, bows , guns or weapons of any description including BB/airsoft and paintball.

    • With immediate effect it is now against the rules for you to sell an item for a greater value than the price you purchased it for. This means that the item must be priced lower than that of major retailers such as Scan, Ebuyer, ect… Finding a rogue price from Froogle and posting that so you can list it at a silly price will lead to a warning. We will not be silly with this rule, but we expect the same from you

If the product you are selling is collectible then this rule does not apply (e.g out of print items, old CD's and DVD's), but the selling of recently released items or 'good clocking items' in the case of CPU's DO apply, therefore you are not allowed to sell it for more than the current market price.

    • Price Checks are to be posted in HEXUS.Hardstuff main section, Interest Checks are not allowed.

    • Only 2 live sale/wanted posts per forum and where possible combine sales.

    • Threads will be closed by the moderators on completion to help live sales take precedence - when finished, it would help if the seller would post 'PLEASE DELETE’ in the first line of the first post. To help others gauge second-hand prices for goods and for archiving, could you leave the final prices in your post.

    • If advertised elsewhere please mention this fact

    • Keep all final prices and items in your thread

    • Items must be ready for immediate dispatch.

    • All items must have a price. No straight swaps/trades in either forum

    • If there's no interest on your thread, feel free to bump it, but you must leave 24 hours in between bumps. this includes any trick/sly bumping.

    • No OEM software, or warez software.

    • No mod or chipped devices however legal you believe them to be

    • No selling of stolen/fraudulently obtained items

    • You must own the items you are selling - no selling or buying on behalf of others.

No 'Spoiler' or Spam posts whatsoever. If you are Not interested in buying the item then do NOT post in someones thread, even if you think you are being ‘helpful’ replies such as ‘I have one of those aren’t they great; what a bargain’ are NOT needed. You WILL receive a warning for this.

    • You may notice, from time to time, that someone is offering an item for sale at a price that seems, to you, to be way too high. Please DO NOT post in his/her thread to that effect or quoting other websites prices this INCLUDES EBAY!! It is up to the seller to decide what price they ask, and the buyer to be happy to pay it, or not.

There is the rest of the forums to discuss such items. If you wish to help the seller explain WHY they are not selling at that price, then by all means PM/EMail/IRC/ICQ/MSN etc and POLITELY point out that, in your opinion, the price is a bit steep. But such communications should always be done in private, not in the thread. If you think the price is obviously a blatant rip-off or being sold at profit, then please notify a Mod.

    • The wanted forum is for 2nd hand items from members, if you see an item brand new from a shop/site then please post the member a PM letting them know of the good deal and not in the thread.

    • If you feel that your thread or someone elses has been violated then please use the report post button to notify a sale moderator

Mods dont like having to delete and edit people’s posts and the rules are quite simple to adhere.

People who can’t or wont abide by these rules will have there access removed. These rules are for the protection of both Sellers and Buyers and are in place for the sale/wanted forum to run both safely, fairly and smoothly

Sadly, even with the lax rules we have in here, it seems some people just cant take the couple of minutes it takes to familiarise themselves with them.
For that reason, a new warning system is being brought in to help.

It’s pretty simple to follow – if you break a rule, you’ll end up with a warning. If you end up with 3 warnings within the same 30 day period, you loose for sale access permanently.
3 chances in 30 days is MORE than fair. We will not reinstate people’s access once they have lost it.
This system is fully automated. Please do not message us asking which rule you have broken. It is up to you to update yourself with them. If you honestly don’t know which one you have broken after re-reading them, drop us a message.
When receiving a warning, the post will usually be removed too. Even though this has gone – it is still on record. We can recall the post if needed. Please don’t claim to have posted something different to what you did. We have records on the post made

If you received a warning, please do not message a mod apologising, our inboxes are full enough The idea of the system is just to highlight where people have made a mistake and prod them into reading up on the rules. You are however; free to message us if you think you have been unfairly issued with a warning. We believe the rules are very clear though, so warnings will be rarely over-turned. If you are unsure on something, message us first.

We run a common sense policy in regards to the rules. For example, the “no item to be sold higher than retail cost” rule will mean that the item must be priced lower than that of major retailers such as Scan, Ebuyer, ect… Finding a rogue price from Froogle and posting that so you can list it at a silly price will lead to a warning. The mod’s won’t be silly when it comes to warnings, and we expect you not to be when posting in here.

Please remember that this forum is a free service we offer, all we ask is that you stick to the simple rules we have set out. They are there not only to help the forum run smoothly, but many are tried and tested methods there for your protection.

    Cheers
