Sounds like a possibility too, was planning on just getting one brand new because of warranty etc, but cheaper is better tbh

Right, I'm getting really annoyed with this situation now so i am bumping this...

Situation is that i paid for the console probably over a month ago now, £150 for the 360 console+TDU+NFS. I paid by bank transfer a day or two after, but as i paid it in my barclays bank going to his halifax one it took a few days to clear. After receiving the money he arranged for DHL to collect it and deliver.

The delivery was taking forever, i kept contact as best as i could but the item never arrived, finally after about a week or two after delivery OV3RCLOCK3R told me over msn that the console had actually returned to him because of DHL(i think it was dhl, its been so long now ¬.¬) and the address that was written on the box had come of in transit, and was being sent back to him to check for damages.

A few days later i finally got some more news that it was back in his posession and the box had been a bit battered and NFS got smashed in the process. Because this had been going on for so long, and GTA was due to come out in 2 days i decided that i did not want to carry on with the deal and asked for my money back (26th april), due to the cost of postage we agreed that -£5 would be returned to me meaning that i would receive £145. We then both agreed that he would send the money to me by the following Sunday, and he would resell the 360 (1week)

After waiting that week with nothing arriving i got in contact again and he said the money had been deposited and will take 3/4 days to clear. Finally i thought it was finished. Once i got back to uni the following Wednesday, i checked my bank balance and nothing had come in from him so i got in contact once again. This time OV3RCLOCK3R explained that he had some money problems and the money didnt leave his account. Slightly annoyed i gave him another week to get it to me(last Sunday). He also explained that he had sold it locally so i did not see what the problem was.


And now i am on here, still £145 out of pocket, its just hard to keep in contact as he is on msn sometimes, but usually very early morning :/ Any info on what the situation is OV3RCLOCK3R if you read it...

Agent/5Cupa would be nice if you could look into this too



I wasn't really to bothered by all this as OV3RCLOCK3R has a decent trust account, and we have even bought from each other before (i sold him a MX518) But this is now over a month ago and is getting out of hand.

I was just wondering if you have got your money back yet ?

I'm from neowin and done a "deal" with him also, and he's run off with aload of my cash too.
I was selling a Nokia N95 phone from an unwanted contract upgrade, and I had a little bit of interest and Irteza (Ov3rclock3r) was interested ini it, but couldn't afford the full amount. He said he was desperate for a phone and so he started talking about a PS3 that his brother was going to give him and we spoke about making a deal. I trusted him because he has done alot of deals before and seems pretty trusted. Our deal was that I sent him the Mobile plus £80 and he would send me the 40gb PS3 with 2 controllers. I agreed and we sorted it out. 7th of may, I deposited £80 into his bank account and posted him the mobile phone, and then told me he would book the courier in the next hour, that never happened and he said he booked it late and because it was past the pickp time it would be picked up the next morning, he told me he would send it by DHL 48hr delivery. I waited until monday, then gave an extra day for it to show before I contacted him again. I contacted him telling him it hadn't arrived and all I got was "hasnt it arrived yet"?
Then on the 15th May, early hours of the morning, I get a text (supposidly) from his brother saying he has had a car accident and he is in ICU. I spoke to his brother (i assume) and told me he checked the parents house, Irtezas bedroom and asked the other brother and apprently it had been picked up. I had waited in all day after it was supposidly sent but it never arrive.
I phoned 3 DHL numbers to talk to someone about seeing if they had the parcel in the warehouse, only to be told I needed the tracking number, or they couldnt help. So I was screwed.
Then, 15th of May, I get a text from a (supposidly) mates mobile, Saying that there was a kick off at home and now living in a flat, and doesnt have the internet, Still after I contactd him repeatedly, not much sign of hope for an answer. He says his number is blocked, but can receive calls and texts, but not send texts or call people, this was on the 27th May. He told me he would have a new sim card by wednesday or thursday, that was a week ago now.

He's text me on his (supposidly) mates mobiles, 2 of them, I've tried ringing them, they are both off, I've tried ringing his, and that is also off.

The phone sells for £200+ of ebay, and he had £80 of mine deposited into his account...
So here I am a month later, nearly £300 out of pocket, and I currently don't have a job, not until I finish college in a few weeks, and currently have no money so I'm screwed really.

He didnt seem too fussed that the PS3 hadnt arrived when I got a message last week, he didnt say he'd look into it, just that he would refund me, It seems to me that he gets short of cash, scams people and weather he gives it back or not, I dont know.

I dont understand why he would give his Name, Address, Phone number, Home phone numer and HIS bank details if he was going to scam me...

Nah, nothing has been received yet, though the good folk here at hexus are currently working on it and have had a slight glimmer of hope today as Mods have had contact with him, but i have not.

Your story bears similarities to mine, including the mobile phone stuff. After i first paid him for the 360 and told him that it would take 3 days to clear, he said that he really needed that money to pay of his 02 phone bill and actually asked if i could send him another £150 but transfer it straight into his account so that it would be instant so he could pay it of and then resend me back the money a few days later... Obviously i wasn't stupid enough to do this, and am really glad I didn't, as i would be in a close situation to you at the £300 mark.

Same thing with the DHL, no way of telling if anything was ever sent regards to my post above a few up

I have also tried phoning him, but no answers


You are the third person i have now heard of in a very short space of time, possibly out of pocket but still hopeful. It may get sorted...


Just make sure you get the Mods over at Neowin involved and hope for the best. £300 is alot to lose, i though i was taken pretty heavily, that sucks. Good luck to you too

Just out of interest, How are the mods helping ?
Are they phoning him? or have other contacting methods?

I have tried to phone him still the last few days and his (so called) mates, but they are all off still, I think that they all must belong to him.

Appologising, saying he's been sorting the insurance claim out, police, his car and moving out.
Also said that the mobile was smashed into bits.
And he said he would be sorting my refund out.
